Professional guides

Our team of fungi guides are experts in the mycological field. 

2-3 hour Adventure time

Each adventure is about 2-3 hours, depending on the group. Distance is approximately 2 - 2.5 miles round trip, some trips not as long.

Where we will go

SLADE - The property we will be adventuring on for foraging is private property found in the Slade area.  The area is secluded, with no public access.  The property is rugged with minimal maintenance.  Participants will walk into the property from the meeting location.

What to expect

  • SLOW PACED WALK - Foraging adventures are slow-paced walks where folks will disperse looking for edible fungi.  As finds are made, lead guides will discuss the find, how to positively identify the find, what it uses are and other valuable information about each species.
  • 2-3 hour adventure - All trips will be finished between 2-3 hours from their start time.
  • Group sizes - Each guide will be limited to 10 people.  this will allow for a closer more personal adventure.
  • Interactive - This is an interactive adventure.  Participants will have the opportunity to touch, smell, and taste various species of fungi.
  • KNOWLEDGEABLE GUIDE - Our fungi guides are professionals in their field. 
  • KEEP WHAT YOU FIND - Expect to keep what you find.  There are loads of delicious edible fungi in each season.  These adventures take place on private property, allowing for all finds to be kept.
  • ADDITIONAL RESOURCES - The learning doesn't end with the adventure. After your adventure is over, participants will be provided with additional resources such as social media groups, websites, and field guides.

FAQs

What happens if there is rain?

Foraging events are not affected by the rain. These events WILL proceed unless the sustained winds exceed 15MPH, there is or there is lightning.

What happens if I can't come?

*If you know 14 days (or more) prior to reservation date, you can receive a full refund - (minus 5% processing fee).
*If it is within 3-13 days prior to reservation date - 50% refund (minus 5% processing fee).
*If you need to cancel 3 or less days before the reservation date you will forfeit your purchase price.
~You can reschedule your adventure ANYTIME prior to one hour before your adventure start time - for no fee or penalty.

What clothes should I wear?

-Weather appropriate clothing.
-Secure footwear (no crocks, sandals or flipflops.) Being off trail opens the opportunity for injury - improper footwear will increase those odds greatly.

Can I sell or transfer my ticket

No, due to the overwhelming number of scams, we will not allow the transfer of a ticket to another person.
We will allow a new reservation to be made by the new customer and NOT adhere to our cancellation guidelines for the original customer and provide a full refund (minus 5 percent processing fee).

Do I need any prior knowledge?

NO! Beginners are totally welcome and encouraged to attend our trips!
